Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Council, who are looking for a Litigation Solicitor to join their team in Bedfordshire.

Position: Litigation Solicitor     
Rate: £49,498 - £53,578    
Location: Bedfordshire    
Work Type: Permanent (Hybrid)  

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• Provide high quality legal services and advice to all elected members and officers in connection with the Council's function. 
• Draft reports and attend internal meetings to provide legal advice as well as representing the Council at external meetings. 
• Provide legal assistance to service departments on their enforcement and statutory duties. This includes land and property, finance and exchequer, environmental health and trading standards and housing. 
• Prepare and negotiate contracts, deeds and other documents. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate and relevant experience. 
• High knowledge/experience of working within local authority law and practice in civil and criminal litigation. 
• Strong IT skills as well as Legal Management systems. 
• Able to take on legal research and use this to contribute. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
