Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Allocation Team Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their lettings operations.  

Position: Allocation Team Manager
Rate: £28 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• To ensure the service is efficiently progressing property allocations key-to-key within stipulated performance timeframes whilst making every conceivable effort to ensure effective liaison with key colleagues and departments around works completions dates and voids availability in order that the team can meet the needs of those living in overcrowded, insecure or inadequate housing, despite their acute need.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring a fair service delivery so that those most in need of social and Council housing are bidding for, and moving into, properties that suit their needs.
• To make sure Officers (and Administrators when necessary) are receiving the support and development necessary to correctly and efficiently progress property allocations including the verification process, advertisements, organising viewings, management of refusals, processing special schemes nominations, processing decants and processing under-occupation transfers.
• To represent the Council at strategic and operational partnerships, making decisions on behalf of the local authority in the context of its statutory duties and achieving the wider strategic objectives of the organisation.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Allocation Team Manager role or equivalent.
• Educated to degree level standard or equivalent or demonstrable suitable experience.
• Experience of delivering a high quality housing service in a related area for a large local authority or comparable organisation.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
