Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Contract Lawyer to join their team and play a crucial role in their construction contract operations.  

Position: Contract Lawyer
Rate: £60 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• In this role you will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers to provide quality proactive legal advice on issues including, but not limited to, Public Contract Regulations matters, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC’s and JCT construction Contracts, and general contract queries. You will have conduct of a full, varied and demanding caseload.

Job Responsibilities: 

• This role will be required to assist in the management of a group of lawyers in identified work areas according to business need, providing leadership, supervision, and direction and expert legal advice to the County Council, its members, officers and committees.
• In this role you will manage a full, varied and demanding caseload and deliver innovative solutions with minimal supervision.
• As part of the role, you will be required to undertake and/or manage advocacy where required.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Contract Lawyer role or equivalent.
• You are a Solicitor, barrister or Fellow of CILEX, eligible to practise in England and Wales with a current practicing certificate issued by the relevant regulatory authority.
• Negotiating and drafting experience such as construction contracts, service agreements, facilities management services.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
