Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Streetworks Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role in their NRSWA operations.  

Position: Streetworks Engineer (NRSWA Inspector)
Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (September 2025) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• The Streetworks Team within Network Management is responsible for the co-ordination of road and street works, the arrangement of road closures for works and events, and the inspection of works.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Monitoring and reporting on works on the highway by carrying out inspections under NRASWA, including inspection of works, reinstatements, and ironwork.
• Ensuring that all works promoters comply with signing, lighting and guarding requirements as required by Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and ‘Safety at Street Works and Road Works: A code of practice’.
• Assisting with the co-ordination of works, events or incidents on the highway, and temporary obstructions, e.g., builder’s skips etc comply with safety legislation and licence conditions.
• Respond to reports and incidents on the highway and take immediate action when significant highway dangers are identified.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Streetworks Engineer role or equivalent.
• NRASWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) Operative accreditation.
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in a Construction related area or proven relevant experience to the same standard will also be considered.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
