Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join their team based in Yorkshire.

PAY RATE: £30 -£40 per hour  
WORK TYPE: Temporary

JOB SUMMARY
Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) in children's social care are qualified social workers responsible for ensuring the quality of care planning and the child's voice is heard
  
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: 

•  
  Quality Assurance:
  IROs ensure the care planning process is up to standard, promotes the child's voice, and that plans are based on a thorough assessment, according to the National Association of Independent Reviewing Officers. 
  
  
  Review Meetings:
  IROs chair review meetings, which are held at least every six months, to assess the care plan's effectiveness and the child's progress
  
  
  
  Monitoring Progress:
  IROs monitor the progress of the care plan to ensure it's effectively addressing the child's needs and there are no undue delays in achieving a permanent and suitable placement
  
  Promoting the Child's Voice:
  IROs ensure the child's wishes and feelings are considered in the care planning process, and that they understand their legal rights, according to a guide from the National Association of Independent Reviewing Officers
  
  Ensuring Safety:
  IROs are ultimately responsible for ensuring the child's safety and well-being, and that their care plan is effectively implemented
  
  Independent Perspective:
  IROs work independently of the child's social worker and other professionals involved in the case, providing a fresh perspective and ensuring the child's interests are protected

• The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

Experience working as an IRO for over a year 
Qualified Social Worker
