Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Youth Worker to join their team based in London

PAY RATE: £30 -£31 per hour

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Youth Worker will be supporting the Team Manager regarding the effective day-to-day operational delivery of several universal ‘safe spaces’ across the borough. 
  
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• To contribute to the continuous development of a boroughwide Youth Work Strategy and Delivery Model including the
  effective implementation and evaluation of these in the
  universal ‘safe spaces’ area
• To implement operational rotas ensuring there is sufficient
  staffing in compliance with identified minimum staffing ratios
  relevant to each universal ‘safe spaces’ setting
• To plan year-round programme plans in collaboration with
  Youth Support Workers-in-Charge, Youth Support Workers
  and Volunteers. Ensuring that plans are varied, informed by
  the youth work curriculum, asset based, co-produced and
  responsive to the local needs of young people across the
  universal ‘safe spaces’ setting within your portfolio
• being familiar with health and safety policies and procedures
  setting a positive example
• communicate health and safety policies and procedures to staff
• carry out, review and share risk assessments
• Consider work-related violence, abusive or threatening behaviour in the planning and development of safe working systems and procedures
• Ensure adequate first aid provision
• Holding staff accountable
• Ensuring staff receive adequate information, instruction, training and supervision
• Cooperate with trade union/safety representatives and attend relevant meetings
• Ensure work-related accidents/incidents are reported
  and investigated in line with procedures.

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in youth work, youth justice, probation or social work. 
• Experience of working within and undertaking a lead role in delivering universal provision for young people
