Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in North West Leicestershire, are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their organisation.

Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: North West Leicestershire
Salary: £35 p/h umbrella inside IR35
Office Based/Hybrid: Likely to be 5 days on site
Contract: 3 months (possible extension)

Purpose:
Assist the Housing Asset Management Team in the co-ordination and management of cost control and procedures for the repairs and investment work of the Council’s housing stock.
Key Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with contractors, customers and stakeholders, dealing with challenging situations as and when required.
• To assist the Housing Procurement officer with the procurement of contracts. 
• Forecast cash flow and manage accruals sharing information with other stakeholders where required  
• Review contractor valuations on a timely basis, ensure all works are completed along with relevant associated paperwork and that they are paid in accordance with the contractor terms and conditions.
• Be responsible for contract documentation and provide advice and support to the department on disputes etc.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Senior Quantity Surveyor role or equivalent.
• Contract knowledge, negotiation and OJEU procurement experience
• Have quantity surveying qualification or equivalent at HNC level or above
