Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a Housing Association, are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join their team.

Role: Financial Operations Officer
Location: Home-based with occasional office attendance
Hours: Permanent, Part-time (19 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Monday (7.5 hours), Tuesday (7.5 hours), Wednesday afternoon (4 hours)
Salary: £30,437 pro rata (£15,629 actual)
Dress Code: Dress-down business attire

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our Group Services team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions within our finance and housing management systems. This includes managing income postings, reconciling accounts, issuing invoices, and supporting credit control functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process and allocate all received payments.
• Post cash and benefit payments manually and in batches.
• Issue debtor invoices and assist customers with payment setups (e.g., standing orders, direct debits).
• Reconcile cash, transfer postings, and resolve discrepancies.
• Process refunds and manage housing benefit/universal credit payments.
• Administer and manage customer accounts, ensuring correct allocation of direct debits.
• Support debt recovery efforts and provide credit control cover.
• Handle rent allocation queries and liaise with relevant teams.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist in system improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Experience using financial systems and a quick learner with IT platforms.
• Previous experience in a finance or transaction processing role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM databases.
• Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
• Effective communicator with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to excellent customer service, equality, and diversity.
• Awareness of data protection principles and security controls.
