JOB SUMMARY
The Social Worker to work a pivotal role in providing essential support and intervention for families in CiN, CP and Court processes. 
  
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Undertake complex assessments and be responsible for actions in situations where a child or vulnerable adult’s safety is at risk, observing safeguarding policies/procedures, the legal principles of the Children Act 1989, Working Together statutory guidance and other relevant legislation.
• Advise on and enable the creative use of universal and specialist resources, community resources, including assistive technology and other equipment. Provide advice and guidance to other professionals, agencies, and partners.
• Develop & maintain positive working relationships with children, families, carers & other professionals. Liaise effectively with colleagues in own and other teams/departments and external agencies to gather information to inform assessment and care planning, joint planning and delivery of interventions. Where appropriate act as the duty worker for the team responding to queries and issues. 

  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England
• Completion of the Skills for Care ASYE Programme or equivalent demonstration of professional capabilities if alternative route to social work (e.g. non-UK based initial year in practice) or pre-ASYE qualification.
• Significant knowledge, understanding and experience of applying relevant legislation and statutory guidance in relation to delivery of statutory social work tasks
