Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their strategy & Operations operations.  

Position: Senior Communications Officer
Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (December 2025) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• Develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications strategies and solutions to promote and support council's services, policies and objectives, manage reputation, change behaviour and promote resident engagement.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will be a key player in the Council’s Communications function.
• Answer media enquiries in a timely fashion and effectively use the media to promote Council services, policies and objectives.
• Developing and implementing fully integrated, strategic, evaluated communications campaigns.
• Respond to a range of reactive media and social media effectively and to tight deadlines.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Senior Communications Officer role or equivalent.
• Experience of working within a complex, political environment with practical understanding and experience of the challenges facing the public sector.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
