Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 

Project Duration: Long term 

Project Type: Main Utility & Public realm (Infrastructure)

Oversee all Quality Management and inspection activities related to main utility networks and public realm construction to ensure compliance with WER requirements.


Basic Role
The basic role of the Quality Engineer is to provide technical support and direction for all quality activities (including reporting) performed by CONTRACTOR's Inspectors for COMPANY's projects.


Scope of Work

• Compliance: Ensure all Quality Management activities and reports comply with WER Quality requirements.
• Standards: Utilize knowledge of COMPANY engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications, and Schedule "Q" of the project's Construction Contractors' contract.
• Training: Provide specialized training to others as required.
• Environment: Duties may require physical exertion, working outdoors, in confined spaces, at high elevations, and in remote locations (onshore and offshore).

Principal Duties

• Management Support: Support all aspects of Quality Management, including Inspection.
• Technical Problem Solving: Provide technical support to Purchasing and Project Management to resolve problems concerning inspection methods and procedures for completing work within the scope and intent of applicable codes and standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Keep current on the latest developments in inspection standards, codes, practices, procedures, methods, and inspection equipment.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all WORK is completed according to applicable codes, standards, and WER quality/inspection requirements.
• Record Management: Review and evaluate quality assurance/quality control systems and ensure Inspection Records (hard copy and electronic) are compiled and maintained.
• Analysis: Perform root cause analysis and assessments to recommend short and long-term remedies.
• Site Visits: Conduct frequent visits to construction sites to resolve inspection problems or appraise the adequacy of services.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Higher Engineering Degree.
• Employment History: At least two (2) years of continuous employment with the CONTRACTOR.
• Experience: Five (5) years of inspection experience, including a minimum of two (2) years in inspection supervision.
• Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of applicable US Codes, construction/maintenance procedures, and material testing procedures.
• Standards: Confirmed full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods (ISO 9001).
• Language: Fluent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
