Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

Full-time opportunity with a well-established Tier 2 commercial builder delivering complex building services–driven projects across Perth. With a secured pipeline extending into 2026, the business is expanding its delivery team and is seeking a Project Engineer with a strong focus on building services coordination.

This role is well suited to an engineer looking to deepen their technical exposure to building services packages and progress toward Senior Project Engineer or Project Management roles within a stable, growing contractor.

About the Role

You will play a key role in the delivery of a new commercial facility, with responsibility for coordinating building services trades and supporting the broader project team through design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, consultants, and subcontractors, you will ensure building services are integrated seamlessly into the overall construction program and delivered to a high standard of quality, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, and specialist services subcontractors
• Review and manage drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submissions
• Support project planning, look-aheads, and construction programming
• Manage procurement, cost tracking, variations, and reporting for services packages
• Oversee QA documentation, ITPs, testing, commissioning, and defect close-out
• Liaise with consultants, authorities, and client representatives
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance on site

About You

You will bring a strong technical mindset, a collaborative approach, and experience working on commercial construction projects with significant building services scope.

We're looking for:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
• Experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on commercial projects
• Strong understanding of building services, structural coordination and construction methodology
• Ability to interpret drawings and manage subcontractor performance
• Problem-solving ability and high attention to detail
• A proactive, professional and team-focused approach
