About the Role G'day, we are looking for  experienced Boilermakers/Welders for site-based rail shutdown projects in the Wollongong area. This is a long-term 12–24 month contract, providing the chance to work on high-value, large-scale rail infrastructure projects.

You’ll fabricate, repair, and install critical rail components, including structural frames, gantries, bogie parts, and specialized track infrastructure, all to strict rail safety and quality standards (AS/NZS).

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints for rail shutdown works.
• Heavy-gauge fabrication and welding using MIG and Stick (FCAW/MMAW).
• Marking out, cutting, grinding, and assembling steel components on-site.
• Collaborate with a team to meet shutdown timelines and quality standards.
• Ensure all work is compliant with rail safety regulations.

Requirements

• Trade Qualified: Cert III in Engineering (Fabrication) or equivalent.
• Experience: Heavy fabrication experience; rail or rolling stock experience is a huge advantage.
• Strong attention to precision, safety, and quality.
• Willingness to work on-site in Wollongong for shutdown periods.
