About the Role We are looking for experienced Boilermakers and Welders to join our specialist workshop team in Newcastle. This is a 100% workshop-based role, giving you a controlled environment, consistent hours, and opportunities for overtime.
You will fabricate high-quality steel components for the rail industry, including structural frames, gantries, bogie parts, and specialized track infrastructure, all to strict rail safety and quality standards (AS/NZS).
Key Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for rail-specific projects.
• Heavy-gauge fabrication using MIG and Stick welding (FCAW/MMAW).
• Marking out, cutting, grinding, and assembling steel components.
• Operate workshop machinery: overhead cranes, saws, presses, rollers.
• Ensure all work meets rail safety and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Trade Qualified: Cert III in Engineering (Fabrication) or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous heavy fabrication experience; rail or rolling stock experience is a bonus.
• Strong precision and attention to detail for tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
• Team player who thrives in a modern workshop environment.
