Qualified Open Pit Mine Surveyor (G2) – 2:1 FIFO | Long-Life Operation
Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking a Qualified Open Pit Mine Surveyor (Grade 2 or higher) to join a leading mining operation on a 2:1 FIFO roster. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily set-out of mine designs, survey control and accurate reporting to ensure mining activities are completed safely and in accordance with engineering specifications, statutory requirements, and site standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain survey control networks in accordance with the Mine Survey Code of Practice
• Conduct pit volume calculations, stockpile and landform surveys, and production reporting
• Set out mining and drilling areas in line with short and long-term mine plans
• Ore mark-up, delineation and grade control support
• Resource and blast hole set-out and pick-up surveys
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date survey records, site plans and services information
• Conduct tenement and lease boundary surveys
• Monitor slope stability and pit wall movement including installation and monitoring of prisms and tilt sensors
• Ensure mining activities are executed to engineered design parameters
• Maintain integrity and accuracy of all survey and production data
Requirements
• Degree or Diploma in Surveying and WA Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 2 or higher)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in open pit mine surveying
• Strong understanding of survey principles within open pit mining operations
• Proficient with Trimble RTK GPS, Trimble Total Stations and DJI UAV systems
• Experience using Surpac, Trimble Business Center and Quickslope
• Working knowledge of Agisoft Metashape and PPK processing software (True View / ASP Suite)
• Strong communication skills with ability to support daily mining operations
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with statutory and site procedures
• Current Manual Driver’s Licence and National Police Clearance
Highly regarded: Quarry Manager’s Certificate, Remote Pilot Licence (RePL / ARoC)
