Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Hampshire, are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their collections operations.  

Position: Accounts Receivable Officer
Rate: £16 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (December 2025) with Possible Extension
Working Hours: 18.5hrs per week (Wed - Fri) 

Purpose:

• You will be part of a team of 6 working on the collection of income billed using Oracle Accounts Receivable, which could be invoices raised for a number of different council services, such as Licensing fees, Commercial rents, hire of school facilities, professional fees or a variety of different service charges.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be dealing with queries and enquiries from both internal and external customers on a daily basis.
• You will be responsible for maintaining the Customer Database, which includes the set up and amendment of customer records in the Oracle Accounts Receivable system to enable invoices to be raised.
• You will also be responsible for setting up new direct debit instructions and amendments to existing instructions.
• Raising credit notes, raising refunds for overpayments and processing write offs.
• Daily invoice distribution, which includes the printing of Invoices, managing enclosures, and occasionally raising invoices for smaller departments.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Accounts Receivable Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. 
• Understanding of financial billing / invoicing procedures.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience of using an Accounts Receivable package such as Oracle.
