Hours: 37 Hours Per week
Rate: c£15.52 per Hour

Purpose of the Role: 

We’re looking for a proactive and community-focused Recycling Support Officer to join our Waste and Resources team. This is a key role in promoting recycling, composting, and waste minimisation across the Borough. You’ll play a vital part in delivering new waste schemes, running community engagement campaigns, and ensuring our waste services run efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Increase public participation in recycling and composting schemes through outreach, campaigns, and promotional activity.
• Monitor the performance of kerbside waste collections via audits and the Bartec ‘Waste Collector’ system.
• Identify low participation areas and develop targeted initiatives to improve recycling rates and reduce contamination.
• Conduct household visits to provide recycling guidance, assess service needs, and collect performance data.

• Educated to A-Level or Degree level in an environmental field or equivalent experience in local/national government.
• Organised, with excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of local authority waste services, recycling, and composting.
• Experience working with partners such as Housing Associations.
• Full driving licence required.
