JOB OVERVIEW

The Finance Manager is in charge of processing BACS payments, creating and posting journals, creating the draft management accounts, recording all financial transactions, and allocating income and expenses to the proper funds, projects, and cost centres.

This position is essential to the charity's general management. High levels of precision, effectiveness, and confidentiality, as well as excellent time management abilities and a careful approach to the accounting function, are necessary for success in this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• To guarantee that the organisation's financial activities and payment procedures are precisely documented within predetermined timeframes, plan, coordinate, and oversee your own job.
• Creating monthly draft management accounts.
• Handle sales and buy invoices, banking, payments, and receipts.
• Create and manage accounts with suppliers and customers.
• Keep track of financial documents and papers.
• Answering pertinent enquiries and helping with year-end audit procedures.
• Reviewing and implementing all financial rules and procedures with the Director of Finance's help.
• Helping the finance director with forecasting and budgeting.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• AAT-qualified, comparable, or experience-qualified
• A minimum of two years of practical experience in a similar position in a nonprofit or charitable organisation.
• Proficiency in overseeing daily financial operations, including creating monthly management accounts.
• Knowledgeable about the Xero accounting software.
• Relevant understanding of charity-related SORPs.
