This organization is a real estate development company that builds and operates large, mixed-use properties. Its portfolio typically includes retail, hospitality, residential, and other commercial assets, with an emphasis on thoughtful development, strong operations. Currently seeking a Corporate Insurance Manager.
The Corporate Insurance Manager helps oversee the company's insurance and risk coverage to protect the business. This role supports how insurance is selected, and structured, and helps reduce exposure. The Manager also partners on safety and security efforts and assists with tort-related matters in coordination with the Legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for insurance brokers and carriers.
- Lead the strategy, procurement, and day-to-day administration of insurance and risk transfer programs.
- Coordinate with brokers and internal teams to collect underwriting information and support policy placement.
- Evaluate and manage a broad range of commercial insurance coverages to protect assets and meet requirements.
- Identify coverage gaps and obtain competitive pricing options for leadership review.
- Track market trends and emerging insurance solutions that may benefit the organization.
- Support cost control efforts by benchmarking pricing and presenting comparisons for key coverages.
- Assist with annual budgeting for insurance premiums and any self-insured program funding.
- Perform basic financial and risk analysis related to rates, coverage adequacy, exposure, and claims activity.
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal partners on risk management initiatives..
- Support workplace safety efforts by helping implement recommendations..
- Contribute to emergency preparedness and incident response planning, including recommending improvements.
- Manage certain insurance claims from intake through resolution, coordinating documentation and recovery efforts with internal teams and external partners.
- Review contracts to confirm appropriate insurance terms, limits, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with senior leadership and legal counsel to align insurance and risk activities with organizational priorities.
- Maintain and enforce certificate of insurance tracking and compliance for third parties.
- Draft, review, and standardize insurance language and risk transfer provisions in agreements.
- Provide leadership with high-level summaries, reporting, and budget tracking, including allocations as needed.
- Use risk management and insurance tracking systems and carrier portals for submissions, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
- Support insurance program changes during organizational transitions, including confirming lender or investor insurance requirements when applicable.
- Ensure appropriate insurance requirements and specialized coverages are in place for construction or project-based work.
- Collaborate with legal to support consistent risk management practices and mitigate exposure across the organization.
Requirements: - 3+ years of experience in insurance, risk management or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of insurance concepts, practices, and market dynamics.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting claims handling and administering insurance programs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Comfortable reviewing and understanding insurance policy language and coverage terms.
- Proficient with risk management systems, databases, and related tools.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively with senior leaders, operational teams, brokers, and external stakeholders.
