Our client is a well-established enterprise delivering a major infrastructure uplift program focused on long-term service reliability and operational resilience. This contract opportunity sits within a high-performing technology environment delivering critical modernisation initiatives across core infrastructure platforms.

About the role 
We’re partnering with a client seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Contract) to deliver multiple initiatives within their program. This role is heavily infrastructure-focused and suited to someone who can lead technical delivery across server, database and platform upgrades in complex production environments.

Duties / Key responsibilities

• Deliver Windows Server migration and upgrade projects
• Lead SQL Server upgrade activities 
• Modernise backup infrastructure including hardware and tape library upgrades
• Review, optimise and improve backup configurations across production environments
• Manage concurrent infrastructure project delivery while ensuring operational stability

Skills and experience

• Senior Level 3 Infrastructure / Systems Engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale Windows Server migration and upgrade programs
• Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure transformation and implementation delivery
• Proven SQL Server upgrade and migration capability across enterprise environments
• Experience modernising backup and recovery platforms
• Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects and priorities
• Strong understanding of complex production environments and change delivery
• Broad backend infrastructure expertise with a project delivery mindset
• Able to operate autonomously and execute quickly with minimal ramp-up time
