About the company
Our client is a national healthcare services provider delivering integrated workplace health and wellbeing solutions across Australia. With a strong market reputation and a growing multidisciplinary footprint, the business is entering an accelerated phase of commercial growth, service expansion and strategic development.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, this is a commercially driven executive leadership role responsible for growing and scaling a national medico-legal division. You will own the full commercial agenda — from new business development and key account growth through to strategic partnerships and market expansion — while working closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure delivery keeps pace with growth.
This is a role for a proven commercial leader who can open doors, build relationships with insurers, employers and regulatory bodies, and convert opportunity into revenue — all within a complex, clinically-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead new business development and revenue growth across the national medico-legal division, including expanding into new markets and service lines
- Build and manage high-value relationships with insurers, employers, lawyers, regulatory bodies and other key referral sources to drive contract wins and long-term retention
- Develop and execute a national commercial strategy, including identifying acquisition and partnership opportunities that accelerate growth
- Own the division's P&L with full accountability for revenue, margin and EBITDA performance
- Work closely with medical specialists and clinical teams to ensure service capability supports commercial commitments and customer expectations
- Lead and develop a customer-facing team, building a high-performance, commercially oriented culture
- Oversee operational performance to ensure service delivery, quality and compliance standards are maintained across all jurisdictions
- Collaborate with the broader executive leadership team to align commercial activity with national business objectives
Skills and experience - 8+ years in a commercial leadership role with a strong track record in business development, sales and revenue growth
- Background in healthcare is essential — you will work closely with medical specialists and must understand the clinical environment
- Experience in medico-legal, occupational health, insurance or compensable injury management is highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to build and grow client relationships at a senior level, including insurers, employers and legal stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen with proven P&L ownership
- Skilled at leading and motivating customer-facing teams in a complex, multi-site environment
- Experience driving growth through periods of transformation or expansion
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Health Management or a related discipline — MBA advantageous
