Licensed Truck Technician — Heavy-Duty Fleet | Winnipeg, MB Work four days. Earn like five. Join a national transportation operation where Friday is always yours — and your skills are genuinely valued.
- Red Seal-certified with your CVIP? This role was built for you.
- A 4-day work week, $35–$40/hour, and a shop where people stay for 15–20+ years.
- Full benefits, RRSP matching, tool allowance, and a team that actually invests in its technicians.
This isn't a run-of-the-mill fleet job. You'll be working with a well-established national transportation company backed by a major rail and logistics group — which means serious stability without the cold, corporate feel. The shop is technology-driven, the fleet is diverse, and the leadership team genuinely invests in the people on the floor.
You'll have exposure to a wide variety of makes and models, mentorship pathways toward lead-hand progression, and a company that reimburses courses when they apply to your daily work. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM — every Friday off, no exceptions, no rotating schedules. And if relocation is what it takes to get the right person in the door, they're open to that conversation.
Why This Opportunity Is Different Most technician postings offer a wage range and a bullet list of tasks. This one is different. The 4-day schedule alone puts it in a category most shops can't compete with. Add to that one of the most comprehensive technician compensation packages in the Winnipeg market and a retention record that speaks for itself — when people join this shop, they don't leave. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople in a culture built on mentorship, quality, and doing things right.
What You'll Be Doing - Performing advanced diagnostics and complex repairs across engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and auxiliary systems on a diverse heavy-duty fleet
- Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections to OEM standards
- Managing work orders with accurate labour, parts, and technical documentation — audit-ready at all times
- Coordinating shop workflow and communicating repair timelines with the supervision team
- Handling parts verification, warranty documentation, and inventory procedures
- Providing hands-on technical guidance and coaching to apprentices and junior technicians

- Valid Driver's Licence with Air Brake certification
- High school diploma
- Ability to read English instruction manuals and safety materials
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and educational verification
- 3 to 7 years of in-shop heavy-duty truck maintenance experience preferred
