Permanent site leadership role in Nunavut — full-cycle multi-family residential construction, CA$150K-$200K plus living allowance and full benefits.
Site Superintendent — Multi-Family Construction (Nunavut)
Build something that matters — in one of Canada's most unique construction environments.
This isn't a downtown condo project with a coffee shop around the corner. This is purposeful, meaningful construction in Nunavut — remote, challenging, and unlike anything most superintendents will ever experience. If you've spent your career mastering multi-family construction and you're ready for a role that tests your leadership, rewards your expertise, and takes you somewhere few people ever build, this is the opportunity.
You'll be joining a team that has earned its reputation by doing what it promises — delivering complex, purpose-built multi-family projects on time and on budget. This organization brings full-service capabilities from land assessment through to warranty, and they trust their site superintendents to run the field the way they see fit.
The compensation is serious — up to $200,000 per year — plus a daily living allowance while in Nunavut, full travel and accommodation coverage, and a comprehensive health and dental package. This is what a high-calibre superintendent earns when they bring real value to hard projects.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most superintendent roles put you in a familiar market, managing familiar trades, dealing with familiar challenges. This one asks more of you — and gives more back. You'll work directly alongside a project team that values collaboration over bureaucracy. You'll have meaningful input on how the site runs. You'll interact with local leaders and community members, making this work feel connected to something larger than just square footage. The rotation model — six to eight weeks on, with scheduled turnarounds — is structured, predictable, and designed to make remote work sustainable over the long term. This is a permanent, full-time role, not a contract.
What You'll Be Doing
Owning the full site operation — safety, schedule, quality, trades, inspections, and budget from mobilization through close-out Leading daily hazard assessments and enforcing a genuine culture of safety in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Managing and verifying contractor performance against project specifications and construction schedules Reviewing drawings and specifications proactively, identifying and resolving conflicts before they become problems Tracking labor, materials, and rental costs to keep projects on budget Maintaining live as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle Coordinating municipal and utility inspections Collaborating with clients, consultants, trade contractors, and local community stakeholders to keep projects aligned Running site meetings, addressing issues on the spot, and keeping momentum moving forward
What We're Looking For
Minimum 15 years of Site Superintendent experience — full-cycle multi-family residential preferred Proven track record running multi-family construction projects from start to finish Strong commitment to safety and a demonstrated ability to build safety-first site cultures Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and email for schedule management and reporting Excellent communication skills — with trades, clients, consultants, and community members alike Analytical mindset: you identify problems early and bring solutions, not just concerns Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced remote environment Willingness and flexibility to work in Nunavut on a 6 to 8 week rotation with scheduled turnarounds Familiarity with local regulations and northern construction practices is considered an asset
Compensation and Work Model
CA$150,000 to CA$200,000 per year, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, daily living allowance while working in Nunavut, full travel and accommodation coverage, and comprehensive health and dental benefits including disability and life insurance. Work model: Onsite — Iqaluit, Nunavut
Location and Travel
Based in Nunavut. This position requires travel and extended periods on-site in remote northern communities. Candidates must be comfortable working in a remote environment and flexible to work rotations of 6 to 8 weeks at a time with scheduled turnarounds.
