Site Superintendent (Yukon)
Lead the front end of a major northern gold project — from the ground up.
This is front-end mine-site construction in the Yukon — remote, fast-moving, and built for a superintendent who wants real ownership of a site from the moment the camp goes in. If you've built your career running installation and construction crews, and you're ready to take on a project where your calls actually set the pace, this is the seat.
You'll be stepping into the early, foundational phase of the project, working directly with the installation contractor, the owner, and the owner's representative to get the site built right and keep it moving. This is a contract position — flexible, well-paid work for someone who wants to bank hard hours and walk away with a strong project on their resume.
Why This Opportunity Is Different Most superintendent roles have you managing someone else's playbook on a site that's already established. This one puts you at the very start — shaping how the camp and site come together during the front-end build. You'll work closely with a lean, focused team where your input on site logistics and sequencing genuinely shapes outcomes, not one where decisions get made three layers above you. The Fly-In / Fly-Out rotation — 23 days on, 19 days off, 11-hour shifts — is demanding but predictable, giving you real, extended time off between rotations to recharge. While this engagement is scoped for the current build phase, the company has a strong pipeline of upcoming work — including a likely remobilization next spring and other modular and camp projects in the meantime — so there's real potential for this role to extend well beyond the initial contract for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
- Overseeing the installation contractor's day-to-day work on site, from mobilization onward.
- Collecting and reviewing Labour, Equipment, and Materials Slips (LEMS) to keep site records accurate and current.
- Assisting with Change Order management — documentation, tracking, and follow-through.
- Acting as the primary on-site liaison between the owner and the owner's representative, keeping communication clear and issues resolved quickly.
- Monitoring work quality, schedule adherence, and on-site safety compliance.
- Coordinating with project stakeholders to keep the front-end build aligned and on track.
What We're Looking For - Minimum 5 years of experience in a site supervision role.
- Camp or site installation experience strongly preferred.
- Commercial construction experience will also be considered.
- Previous Fly-In / Fly-Out or remote rotational work experience required — this is a demanding environment and prior exposure to camp life is essential.
- A track record overseeing contractors on remote or FIFO project sites.
- Solid understanding of Change Order and LEMS processes.
- Excellent communication skills — comfortable liaising between owners, owner's representatives, and contractors.
- An analytical, solutions-first mindset: you flag problems early and bring fixes, not just concerns.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience in a modular construction and workforce housing firm would be an asset.
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) and Standard First Aid certification preferred.
- Candidates based in Western Canada preferred; however, strong candidates from anywhere in Canada will be considered.
Compensation and Work Model This is a 3-month contract position, Fly-In / Fly-Out, with a rotation of 23 days on and 19 days off working 11-hour shifts (subject to slight adjustment). Compensation is paid on a day-rate basis for days worked while on rotation, up to $1,000/day based on experience. Anticipated start is mid-to-late August 2026, with onboarding expected in the week prior to mobilization. This initial phase is expected to run through October 2026, with a strong likelihood of remobilization and continued work into next spring/summer for the right candidate.
Location and Travel Based on site at the mine location in the Yukon. This position requires travel to and extended periods on-site in a remote northern environment. Travel to Whitehorse and onward flights to site are arranged and covered by the company, and camp accommodation is provided on-site at no cost to the candidate. Candidates must be comfortable working remote rotations and must be able to pass a site access drug test.
