Site Foreman — Multi-Family Wood Frame Construction (Northern Canada)
Build something that lasts — in one of Canada's most unique construction environments.
Not many construction careers give you the chance to work on purpose-built multifamily projects in remote Northern communities, earn a living allowance on top of a strong base salary, and come home knowing your work is making a real difference where it matters most. This is one of those roles.
You will work alongside an experienced Site Superintendent on complex, challenging builds in Nunavut — earning competitive compensation, full travel and accommodation coverage, and a comprehensive benefits package that reflects what it takes to attract serious construction professionals. This is not a typical site job, and it is not looking for a typical candidate.
If you have strong carpentry roots, a natural ability to lead crews, and the mindset to thrive in demanding environments, this is a career-defining opportunity.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most foreman roles keep you on familiar ground. This one puts you on some of the most challenging and rewarding jobsites in the country. You will be embedded with a team that has a proven track record of delivering multifamily projects on time and on budget — and you will have direct access to senior site leadership every day. The living allowance structure means your total compensation meaningfully exceeds the base salary alone. The company is growing, the work is real, and the people around you are serious about what they do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all on-site personnel and contractors
- Direct BDL labour and subcontractors to maintain construction schedules and scopes
- Support the Site Superintendent on day-to-day project execution
- Conduct regular site inspections focused on quality control and adherence to construction standards
- Implement and enforce environmental and safety regulations on-site
- Resolve site-level conflicts and issues, escalating to the Superintendent as needed
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and daily reports
What We're Looking For - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in multi-family wood frame construction
- Solid working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and site regulations
- Valid driver's licence and certification to operate applicable equipment Proficiency with hand tools and equipment; comfortable with physical, labour-intensive work
- Strong safety commitment — PPE compliance and safe work practices are non-negotiable
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to direct mixed crews Proactive problem-solver with sound decision-making under pressure
- Clear communicator — both written and verbal
- Comfortable with remote work and extended time away in Northern communities
- Safety tickets (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection) considered a strong asset
Compensation & Work Model CA$120,000 to CA$150,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus Living allowance for each day spent in Nunavut Full travel and accommodation covered while working Onsite — Nunavut, Northern Canada
