About the Company
Our client is a private equity-backed Australian services business undergoing significant digital transformation. With strong investment backing and a clear growth agenda, the business is modernising its technology platforms and operational processes to drive efficiency and scale.
About the Role
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract sitting within the IT – Applications and Data team. Reporting to the Product Owner, the Business Analyst will take ownership of requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement to support a significant pre-need digital initiative.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
- Document current-state (as-is) processes, identify inefficiencies, and support the design of future-state (to-be) processes aligned to business outcomes
- Elicit, document, and maintain business requirements and user stories in Jira, ensuring clarity and traceability across the delivery lifecycle
- Plan and facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions across Operations, HR, Finance, and other functional areas to drive alignment and informed decision-making
- Support change management activities including impact assessments, communications inputs, training preparation, and business readiness tracking
- Assist delivery teams with backlog development, requirements clarification during build and testing phases, and UAT preparation and execution
Skills and Experience - 3–6 years' experience as a Business Analyst or in an equivalent role, mid-level candidates sought.
- Strong process mapping skills across both as-is and to-be states, with experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions
- Comfortable working in Jira for requirements documentation, user story writing, and backlog support
- Business-focused rather than technically deep — this role is about process and business analysis, not solution architecture
- Demonstrated experience working across digital programmes or transformation initiatives
- Adaptable and comfortable wearing multiple hats across a fast-moving project environment
- Background in mid-sized enterprise or consulting delivery environments preferred
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery environments desirable
- Exposure to Oracle systems is a bonus, though not required
