About the role
Reporting to the Head of Data, this Data Engineer role will work closely with the Data Analyst, technology teams, business stakeholders and external vendors. The position is central to building a trusted enterprise data platform and ensuring quality, accessible and secure data across the business.

Duties/Key responsibilities - Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming data ingestion
- Develop trusted data models and reusable data products for reporting, analytics and business use
- Optimise performance, reliability and cost efficiency across the Databricks environment
- Embed data governance, security, lineage and quality controls across all engineering workflows
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver accessible, accurate and business-ready data solutions
Skills and experience - Proven experience building enterprise-scale data platforms within complex environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, Databricks Workflows/DLT and Azure Data Factory
- Advanced SQL and Python capability across ingestion, transformation and automation workflows
- Strong understanding of Medallion/Lakehouse architecture and dimensional data modelling methodologies
- Experience implementing CI/CD, source control, automated testing and release practices
- Solid knowledge of data governance, security controls and sensitive data handling including PII/PHI
- Ability to work closely with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
- Databricks certification will be highly regarded
