Located in Toora VIC 3962, Franklin Downs PTY LTD is a well-established dairy farm situated at the top of Corner Inlet, opposite Wilsons Promontory National Park. The farm is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Dairy Farmer Cattle Operator to become part of their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading, recording and monitoring farm instrument information, including milk vat temperatures and livestock numbers
• Operating and maintaining milking plant systems and associated dairy equipment to ensure efficient daily operations
• Operating and assisting with the maintenance of farm machinery and equipment to achieve quality production outcomes
• Using standard measuring equipment to monitor and record operational data accurately
• Assisting with farming processes such as machinery repairs, artificial insemination, fertiliser mix preparation and other livestock management activities
• Operating computerised farm management systems using menu-driven software
• Supporting the daily care, handling and welfare of dairy cattle in accordance with industry best practices
• Maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety policies and farm procedures

About you:

• At least one year of relevant experience as a Dairy Farmer Cattle Operator or in a similar dairy farming role
• Strong understanding of dairy farming practices, animal husbandry and livestock welfare
• Ability to operate farm machinery, milking equipment and computerised farm management systems
• Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required
• Patient, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy and committed to producing high-quality outcomes
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within a farming environment
• A genuine passion for the dairy industry and commitment to maintaining high farming standards

Job Type: Permanent/Full-time
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per annum
