 IT Support Engineer -Bankstown - On-Site - Daily Rate Contract (likely to turn permanent)
 
We are searching for an IT Support Engineer for an initial contract with a strong possibility to be made permanent. This role is based in Bankstown and is an on-site role. Ideally for an immediate start. 
 
We are looking for experience with Microsoft and End User technologies and a candidate who is confident dealing with end users. 
 
Position Summary
The Level 2-3 IT Technician is a key member of the IT team, responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of technology systems across the organisation. This role provides advanced technical support, assists in infrastructure maintenance, and mentors Level 1-2 support staff. The position works closely with the Infrastructure Engineer and Cyber Security Manager to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient IT operations. 
Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting
• Deliver Level 2-3 support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage escalations from Level 1-2 support and ensure timely resolution.
• Support corporate applications and end-user devices.
• Infrastructure & Systems Maintenance
• Assist in maintaining servers, networks, and cloud environments under guidance from the Infrastructure Engineer.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
• Perform patching, OS upgrades, and compliance checks.
• Application Management
• Deploy, update, and maintain enterprise applications across the organisation.
• Troubleshoot application-related issues and liaise with vendors for escalations.
• Security & Compliance
• Apply security policies and assist with network segmentation, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
• Support backup, recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Project & Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and system upgrades.
• Document processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaboration & Mentoring
• Work closely with the Infrastructure Engineer to gain exposure to advanced infrastructure tasks.
• Share knowledge and assist in training Level 1-2 technicians.

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with network troubleshooting and infrastructure support.
• Familiarity with cloud services and enterprise applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
