Azure Cloud Security Engineer - 6 Month Initial Daily Rate Contract - 900-950 a day - Sydney / Hybrid
We're seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Security Engineer to play a key role across a number of major cloud security and engineering initiatives.
 
This is a 6-month initial daily rate contract where you'll help design, build, and secure enterprise-scale Azure environments, with a strong focus on identity security, privileged access management, and platform hardening. Strong potential for extension. 
 
What you'll be doing

• Lead the design and deployment of secure Azure landing zones aligned with enterprise governance and security frameworks
• Implement and manage Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, ideally CyberArk, including configuration, onboarding privileged accounts, and policy management
• Build Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, embedding automation and security best practice across Azure environments
• Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to support secure, repeatable infrastructure deployments
• Configure and manage key Azure security and identity services including RBAC, Conditional Access, Identity Governance, and privileged access controls
• Implement secure architecture across Azure Networking, Security, Compute, and Storage services
• Support ongoing security optimisation, monitoring, and remediation across cloud environments
• Collaborate closely with security, architecture, and platform engineering teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise compliance and governance standards

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud / Cloud Security Engineer within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience implementing Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions - CyberArk experience highly desirable, ideally down to configuration and policy level
• Deep knowledge of Azure identity and access management, including RBAC, privileged roles, and identity security controls
• Strong experience building Infrastructure as Code with Terraform across complex Azure environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD for automated infrastructure delivery
• Solid understanding of Azure landing zones, subscription management, and governance frameworks
• Strong technical depth across Azure networking, security architecture, storage, and compute services
• Ability to operate across both project delivery and operational security environments
