Allura Partners are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a PE backed business in Sydney on a search for a Head of FP&A. Reporting to the CFO, the Head of FP&A will partner with finance, operations and leadership to build a scalable finance function. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting & analysis, while supporting M&A integration and driving commercial insights across the business.

Duties/Key responsibilities

• Build and establish the FP&A function from the ground up, designing scalable processes, frameworks and reporting standards to support a high-growth, acquisition-led business
• Own and lead the full planning cycle including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans, delivering high-quality, decision-ready insights to senior leadership
• Deliver best-in-class monthly and quarterly reporting, including detailed variance analysis, performance narratives and proactive identification of risks and opportunities
• Act as a strategic business partner to operational leadership, driving accountability through KPI frameworks and embedding a performance-led culture across the organisation
• Play a key role in M&A execution by leading financial integration, standardising processes and building robust frameworks to track and realise synergies across acquisitions
• Strengthen financial governance, controls and data integrity across systems and reporting outputs
• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario analysis, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives

Skills and experience

• Degree in finance, accounting or related field (CA or CPA preferred)
• 12+ years’ experience in FP&A or broader finance roles
• Background in private equity or transaction advisory advantageous
• Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills
• Experience with BI/ERP systems (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, NetSuite)
• Ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
• Strong commercial mindset and analytical capability
