Allura Partners is working with a growing professional services firm seeking a qualified Group Accountant for a 12 Month Contract. The business is scaling steadily, with a focus on strong financial discipline, operational excellence, and continued expansion through high-quality service delivery and internal process improvement.
About the role
This Group Accountant role reports to the Finance Director, working closely with operations, external advisors, and financial institutions. You will own month-end, payroll, and compliance processes, supporting accurate reporting and strengthening financial controls across the business.

Duties/Key responsibilities - Lead month-end close including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
- Oversee payroll processing, commissions, and compliance obligations
- Manage statutory payments including GST, PAYG, super and payroll tax
- Maintain banking operations and invoice financing processes
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders
Skills and experience - 3+ years accounting experience in SME or outsourced environment
- Strong month-end, payroll, and financial reporting experience
- Solid understanding of compliance (GST, PAYG, super, payroll tax)
- High attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with Xero (or similar) and strong Excel capability
- CA/CPA qualification preferred
- Experience with contractor payroll or invoice financing advantageous
