Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Pensions Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their LGPS operations.       

Position: Pensions Manager
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: Ongoing with Possible Extension + Hybrid 

Purpose:

• This role will have specific responsibility for leading a small team across financial matters of the Pension Fund to deliver key operational works that include; delivery of the Surrey Pension Team Finance Strategy including preparation of the annual Pension Fund accounts and Annual Report and assisting with the day-to-day management of the Finance Team work. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Assess or conduct analysis, presenting results and putting forward recommendations on managing more complex situations to support decision making. 
• Actively seek and support the delivery of continuous improvement through process improvement and digital initiatives in line with service priorities, that will improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Ensuring key financial controls are robust, monitoring both the service operating budget and the Fund budget. 

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). 
• An accountancy qualification, e.g. ACA (Chartered Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy). 
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
