Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking for a Principal Internal Auditor based in West Yorkshire. 

Position: Principal Internal Auditor        
Rate: £48,069   
Location: West Yorkshire                 
Work Type: Permanent (Hybrid)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: 

• Take lead for the development and delivery of internal audit work in line with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. 
• Identify any needed improvements in risk management, internal control and operational efficiency. 
• Manage an audit team, ensuring you are developing them and encouraging them to progress. 
• Be a source of advice, providing expert input and feedback on a wide range of subjects. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Hold a relevant degree and professional qualification. 
• A strong previous background in Internal Audit or practical experience in a similar role.  
• Excellent knowledge of audit practices, techniques and statutory regulations. 
• A good understanding of risk management, systems of internal control and governance processes.
