Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy client based in West London, are looking for an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their generalist procurement operations.       

Position: Assistant Category Manager
Rate: £275 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Feb 2027) Possible Extension  

Purpose:

• Managing 6-8 category projects at any given time; looking to redefine the Council's needs and requirements to ensure the best possible service delivery models. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Supporting a Category Manager in commercial negotiations with suppliers on all contracts in line with public sector procurement standards.
• To lead on project based procurement in a category area. 
• To support the development of, implementation and maintenance of category plans, as led by the Category Manager. 

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• MCIPS or have equivalent professional experience.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
