Role Purpose 

This Council’s Housing Needs, Advice & Support (HNAS) service is dedicated to preventing and relieving homelessness. The Rough Sleeping Hub (RSH) provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals experiencing homelessness, offering essential facilities and tailored support to help them rebuild their lives..

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management:

• Supervise entry and exit to maintain a safe staff-to-client ratio.
• Handle face-to-face, telephone, and email enquiries.
• Oversee hub facilities, including laundry, breakfast distribution, needle exchange, and general upkeep.
• Carry out risk assessments and safeguarding interventions.
• Advocate for service users, liaising with mental health services, probation, and substance misuse teams.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to tailored support plans.

• Experience working with vulnerable adults, particularly rough sleepers or individuals with complex needs.
• Understanding of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) and safeguarding principles.
• Skills in risk assessment, advocacy, and case management.
• Resilience & Empathy to support individuals facing challenging circumstances.
• Strong communication & IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
