Are you eager to land a brand new permanent role? Our client in North London are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Finance/VAT operations.

Position: Senior Finance Officer
Location: North London
Salary: £41,442 - £44,331 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm 
Contract: Permanent

Hybrid: 2 days a month in the office!

Key Responsibilities

• Completion of the monthly VAT claims including accuracy checks and sample testing.
• Completion of the monthly CIS returns.
• HMRC and VAT queries.
• Monitoring and reporting on financial controls.
• Completion of the annual Statement of Accounts and associated processes.
• Finance systems maintenance support and resilience.
• Completion of government and other statutory returns.
• Balance sheet and other reconciliations.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar public sector organisation.
• At least 2 years experience within a Senior Finance Officer or equivalent.
• CCAB or CIMA part or fully qualified is desirable.
• Experience of year end closing processes and dealing with audit queries.
• Excellent IT skills, experience and knowledge including Microsoft packages, specifically strong Excel skills and finance systems.
