Job Role: Development Management Officer
Rate: £45 per hour umbrella 
Duration: 3 months
Location: Flexible on office attendance. Mostly WFH at the moment. People need to come into the office to do their own site notices and site visits.(Northamptonshire)

Job Purpose The Development Management Officer will work across the Planning Policy and Development Management and Enforcement functions. 

Key Responsibilities Policy

• Lead on key projects and workstreams to support policy development.
• Conduct research to develop evidence bases for planning policies.
• Assist in community engagement, consultations, and the adoption of planning policies.
• Support neighbourhood plan development and provide policy advice.
• Maintain databases and monitor policy-related trends, assisting with ongoing policy evaluations.
• Prepare reports and statements for appeals, public hearings, and inquiries.
• Work with consultants on technical planning matters and support the development of new planning frameworks.

• Relevant degree or qualification in planning (e.g., RTPI or equivalent).
• Understanding of the English Planning System and related legislation.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service under pressure.
• Able to travel independently to site visits (3-5 times per week) and attend meetings.
• Experience with site visits in varied outdoor environments, including construction sites and overgrown areas.
