Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Finance & Collection Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their financial operations.  

Position: Finance & Collection Officer
Rate: £14.80 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Temporary (March 2025) with Possible Extension
Working Pattern: Hybrid 

Key Responsibilities:

• As part of a team, you will be responsible for the administration of council revenue and financial records.
• Your role will include the efficient and accurate maintenance of council records for clients receiving and paying for social care.
• This will involve you dealing with customers on a daily basis for example via telephone, email, and letter or face to face, collecting income, gathering financial and payment information from customers for adult social care.
• You will check and input electronic and paper information from customers, monitor and manage client’s finances, for the assessment, billing, and collection of social care contributions.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a Finance & Collection Officer role or equivalent.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. 
• An understanding of adult social care legislation and charging policy.
• Experienced in the use of standard IT packages such as Word and Excel and able to use bespoke IT systems.
• Able to input data and update records accurately, whilst ensuring targets are achieved.
