Support tenants to fulfil their tenancy responsibilities and maintain their tenancies successfully.
Provide guidance on budgeting, income maximisation, and tenancy management, including dealing with anti-social behaviour.
Work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to support families and individuals.
Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary and in line with tenancy agreements.
Maintain accurate and thorough records of tenant interactions and case progress, using IT systems to track and manage cases effectively.
Attend and contribute to case conferences and, when required, represent the local authority at court hearings.
Provide tailored advice and support to tenants, identifying vulnerabilities and taking proactive steps to ensure tenancy sustainability.
Adapt to the changing needs of the housing environment and customer base, using sound judgment to make informed decisions
Job Requirements The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience working with tenants in a front-line service, with the confidence to visit customers in their homes.
Proactive, highly motivated, and able to manage work efficiently under pressure.
The ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of focus and transparency.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to listen to customer needs and respond appropriately.
The ability to build rapport with tenants, identify vulnerabilities, and take positive action to maintain tenancies.
Proven experience in supporting tenants to meet their responsibilities, with examples of tenancy enforcement actions when necessary.
The ability to make informed, sound decisions based on thorough analysis and collaboration with others.
Strong written communication skills, including email correspondence and preparing documents for case conferences or court hearings.
Confidence in public speaking, including representing the local authority in court and at multi-agency case conferences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to maintain accurate and clear records using IT systems.
A current driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred, as you may need to travel to different locations).
Flexibility to work from any of the 7 area offices and outside of regular office hours, as required by the service.
