JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• To support the Community Sustainment Manager in managing the Rents Team for the collection of income and associated charges and in the application of the Income Collection and Recovery Policy
• To ensure all associated rent recovery letters and documents are reviewed in line with the Income Collection and Recovery Policy.
• To ensure the recovery processes within the Rents System are in line with the Income Collections and Recovery Policy.
• To ensure that each officer within the Rents Team fully understands and follows the Income Collection and Recovery policy and all associated procedures to ensure consistency and fairness.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• At least 2 years experience of working in a housing and/ debt management related service
• A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a similar environment Substantial knowledge and experience of issues relating to the delivery of rental income collection and management, legislative changes due to welfare reform, performance management
• Extensive experience of dealing directly with members of the public on sensitive financial matters including income maximisation and payment of debt, management of budgets and effective financial planning
