The role
ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Quality Officer to join our Kalgoorlie Quality team.
In this full-time role, you will investigate and manage quality issues relevant to our clients, support root cause analysis efforts, and contribute to the development and implementation of corrective actions.
Based in Kalgoorlie, this position reports to the Kalgoorlie Operations Manager.
This is a residential role, and you must be residing or planning on relocating to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region with current Australian work rights to be considered.
The day to day
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring adherence to local ISO9001 and/or ISO 17025 certification
- Investigate quality issues identified within the laboratories
- Performing/organizing regular in-house equipment calibration verifications as required
- Preparation for and undertaking of system and method audits according to guidelines outlined in the ALS Quality Procedures and ALS Quality Manual
- Monitoring systems and sustainability of systems for statistical quality control of laboratory data
- Active participation in various Focus Groups
- Generation and review of data, following up on issues including CARs, reviewing and working on reducing failures
- Ensuring that changes/amendments and new QWI are complied with by laboratory staff
- Train laboratory staff to ensure quality and competency
The essentials - Practical laboratory experience with a quality focus
- Good numeracy skills
- Problem solve in an analytical manner based upon evidence
- Demonstrated self-motivation and a proven ability to complete tasks and follow up within set timeframes
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and/or ISO 17025 specific and general requirements for accreditation and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Training or previous experience in a Quality Assurance role will be considered an advantage
