About the Role:
ALS Environmental operates several laboratories across Australia that are equipped with the latest in analytical technology.  An exciting opportunity is available in a new premise at Tasmania – Hobart.

This is an exciting, highly autonomous role involving the commencement of ALS Environmental operations in Cambridge, Tasmania. As a Sample Receipt & Bottle Dispatch Officer you will have a strong focus on client services and teamwork to ensure successful submission and dispatch of samples for our laboratory.

Leveraging your strong customer service skills and attention to detail, you'll engage with internal and external stakeholders in person, over the phone and email, with a commitment to exceeding client expectations in a professional manner.

The Day to Day:
Dispatch Duties

• Prepare and distribute sample container orders for clients in a timely manner
• Maintain local stocks of ALS sample containers, bottles, eskies and literature
• Bottle dispatch, sample receipt and storage areas kept well-organised
• Liaising with clients regarding any ambiguities in bottle order requests
• Liaising with ALS Environmental laboratory staff when more local stocks of ALS sample containers, bottles, eskies and literature are required
• Record keeping for incoming/outgoing freight

Sample Receipt Duties

• Receipt of samples from clients to be repackaged and dispatched to ALS Environmental Laboratories
• Registration of client samples
• Arrange couriers and prepare freight for dispatch
• Liaising with clients regarding any ambiguities in sample submission information
• Maintaining documentation of samples and work orders received and dispatched

The Essentials:

• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
• Good presentation, professional attitude and attention to detail
• Demonstrated reliability and efficiency
• A good level of computer literacy (training is provided for internal recording systems)
• Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information
• Ability to process large volumes of samples and records efficiently and within strict timeframes
