About the Role:
ALS Food and Pharmaceutical operates a state-of-the-art commercial laboratory in Scoresby, Melbourne, equipped with the latest technology. We now have a key team leadership opportunity available as a Sample Receipt Team Leader.
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager this role is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of our Sample Receipt function. Sample data and client requirements must be logged and presented for processing consistent with ALS laboratory protocols and to meet our standards of timeliness, efficiency and quality.

The Day to Day:
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
- Supervise staff to ensure efficient, on-time sample processing and manage team workflow to deliver high-quality client service, holding the team accountable for success.
- Model ALS Values by setting standards for resilience, innovation, and adaptability, fostering a curious mindset to troubleshoot challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote effective communication, best practices, and knowledge sharing to enhance team performance.
- Handle client requests, including check testing, subcontracting, and special requirements, while liaising with the Client Services Team to ensure client satisfaction and build professional client relationships.
- Accurately log incoming SR information and field data into the LIMS database and ensure timely receipt, registration, and transfer of samples in line with ALS F&P Quality System requirements.
- Adhere to the ALS Code of Conduct and Respectful Workplace Behaviour.
- Maintain team competency through development pathways and keep team training records updated.
- Address and resolve queries from clients and internal stakeholders.
