The Position 

An opportunity exists for a part time Coal Quality Tester to work at our on-site laboratory based at Helensburgh in New South Wales. The position will be a Night shift 12-hour roster Sunday Monday and Tuesday. If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you.  Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will be involved in aspects of Quality, Turnaround Time, Client Service and Productivity. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Collection of a range of production and train samples
• Strip Sampling 
• Performing a range of preparation and analytical tests including Ash, Moisture and Total Sulphur
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions
• Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances
• Maintaining laboratory equipment: Ovens/Furnaces, Leco/Sulfur
• Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintained
• Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
• Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas

Skills/Qualifications:

• Attention to detail
• Good Organisation and Communication Skills
• Reliable and Trustworthy
• Previous industry experience would be an advantage
• Valid Drivers’ License
