The Position
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Laboratory and on-site mine services team in Gunnedah due to internal movement and growth. This role offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of the business, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of both the laboratory and mine site services.
As a leader, you will have proven experience managing teams of approximately 20 staff across multiple sites, fostering high morale through strategic leadership.
Day to Day
Reporting to the Business Manager your key responsibilities include -
- Supervision of staff
- Co-ordinate and control of mine site activities to ensure quality service to clients
- Supervision of inductions for sites are completed and UpToDate
- Ensure that all staff members receive the necessary training and possess the skills required to perform their duties effectively.
- Promote continuous staff development to maintain high morale and support retention.
- Monitor business performance to ensure operations remain within budget
- Maintain and implement thorough understanding of safety requirements
- Oversee the induction process for new employees, ensuring they receive comprehensive training in all procedures, including safety protocols.
- Manage Profit & Loss (P&L) accounts to maintain financial stability.
Skills/Qualifications: - Tertiary qualification in Science/Chemistry or equivalent highly regarded
- 5+ years’ industry experience in Coal industry would be advantageous
- Understanding of business principles
- An understanding of financial reporting
- A strong customer and client focus
- Change management experience
- Strong leadership skills and attributes
- Negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
