About the Role
ALS Water Division operates a modern commercial laboratory in Scoresby that’s equipped with the latest in technology. We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician with 2-3 years’ experience in microbiology to join our team. We strive to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with our clients.
This role is fast paced and require you to work at speed with accuracy. Experience in a Commercial NATA accredited Microbiology Laboratory would be advantageous.
The day to day
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
- Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
- Interpretation and result entry into LIMS system
- Completing task accurately, in set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour to the Team Leader
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiency
- Contribution to a clean, tidy and organised Laboratory.
The Essentials The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Commercial Microbiology Laboratory
- Relevant experience – Degree qualification
- Excellent organisational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Team orientated with ability to work autonomously
- Strong focus on quality and safety standards
- Attention to detail.
