U.S. Benefits Manager (Full-Time, Hybrid)
This role owns the day-to-day administration and ongoing strategy for U.S. employee benefit programs. You will ensure plans are compliant, competitive, and financially sound, while delivering a strong employee experience through clear communication, education, and high quality vendor support. This position manages programs representing meaningful annual spend and requires a hands on, detail driven approach with strong analytical judgment.
Responsibilities: - Administer benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness offerings.
- Own vendor management including service performance, contracts, renewals, and issue resolution.
- Lead annual open enrollment planning, execution, employee communications, and data accuracy.
- Conduct periodic market benchmarking and recommend updates to maintain competitiveness.
- Maintain governance documentation for audits, renewals, and compliance testing.
- Monitor legislative and industry changes impacting benefits and translate requirements into practical action plans.
- Track benefit costs, utilization, and trends to identify savings opportunities and plan enhancements.
- Recommend plan design and vendor changes that improve cost efficiency, employee outcomes, and overall value.
- Serve as the U.S. benefits subject matter expert and provide guidance to managers and employees.
- Contribute to Total Rewards initiatives and policy development as assigned.
- Coordinate renewals, plan design reviews, compliance activities, benchmarking, and cost analyses.
- Create a year round benefits communication approach that improves benefits literacy and plan usage.
- Improve the employee journey for key life events including onboarding, leaves of absence, and family status changes.
- Provide high touch support for complex claims and sensitive situations, helping employees navigate resources and resolve disputes effectively.
- Gather feedback through pulse surveys and other listening methods, then use insights to inform future plan enhancements.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 3+ years of progressive benefits experience with primary focus on U.S. benefits.
- Proven success managing vendors, budgets, renewals, and compliance processes.
- Experience partnering with external benefits consultants.
- Strong working knowledge of related regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in HRIS and vendor platforms.
- Fluent English required, Spanish preferred or willingness to develop.
