MECHANICAL ENGINEER (PRODUCT DESIGN)

DESCRIPTION:
A specialized engineering firm is seeking a Mid-Senior
Mechanical Engineer (5+ years of experience) with a strong background in Industrial Design for mass-production plastic components. This role is 90% focused on high-level CAD modeling, specifically creating functional, production-ready products. The ideal candidate must possess the "touch" of an industrial designer to ensure parts not only work but are optimized for injection molding, including complex snap-fit assemblies that function without mechanical failure.


Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced CAD Modeling: Devote 90% of workflow to precision design using Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
• Plastic Injection Molding Optimization: Design complex parts focusing on draft angles, wall thickness, and material selection to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Mechanical Integrity: Develop "snap-together" designs and enclosures that ensure structural durability without breakage.
• Simulation & Validation: Perform mandatory Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for thermal and fluid flow validation.
• Material Science: Select and validate appropriate plastic resins and materials based on product functionality and stress requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for injection molding.
• Software: Expert proficiency in Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
• Technical Skills: Mastery of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), FEA, and CFD is a must.
• Industrial Design Hybrid: Strong ability to merge mechanical engineering with industrial design aesthetics and ergonomics.
• Language: Professional English is not a strict "must" for speaking, but the candidate must have strong listening and reading comprehension to follow technical instructions.
• Portfolio: Ability to demonstrate successful "snap-fit" designs and mass-produced plastic products.
