Facilities Associate -  Bilingual (English - Spanish)
Location: Opa Locka
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Occasional overtime and weekends
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay Rate: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience
  
About the Role We are seeking a reliable, hands-on, and detail-oriented Facilities Associate to support daily operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is essential to maintaining the overall functionality, cleanliness, and safety of the facility while ensuring efficient transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate is proactive, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This position requires someone who can take ownership of facility upkeep, support office and operational needs, and contribute to a high-performing Facilities team.

Key Responsibilities
  
Facilities & Property Maintenance

• Maintain overall property cleanliness, including trash removal, parking areas, walkways, and general facility upkeep.
• Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Support the upkeep of interior spaces (offices, restrooms, shop floors) and exterior areas (landscaping, parking lots).
• Assist with organizing and maintaining facility standards during scheduled downtime (e.g., plant shutdowns).

Operations & Logistics Support

• Operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, utility carts, golf carts) to transport personnel, equipment, and materials between buildings and off-site locations.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials, ensuring safe and secure transport.
• Run facility-related errands, including picking up tools, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, deliveries, and personnel transport.

Equipment & Tools Handling

• Operate power tools and general machinery safely and effectively.
• Utilize equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes (if trained).
• Conduct daily inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment; report mechanical issues as needed.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, fueled, and maintained according to service schedules.

Team & Event Support

• Assist with setup and breakdown for company events (including off-site events such as boat shows; overnight travel may be required).
• Support office-related needs and internal operations as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and help coordinate or delegate tasks to ensure efficient workflow.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Work safely in environments that may involve exposure to chemicals (PPE provided).

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required; subject to regular MVR checks).
• Previous experience in facilities operations, maintenance, logistics, or similar hands-on roles.
• Experience maintaining property cleanliness and supporting general facility upkeep.
• Comfortable using power tools and general machinery (forklift, scissor lift, crane is a plus).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support team operations.
• Experience coordinating or delegating tasks is a strong plus.
• OSHA certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs.
• Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and use of tools and equipment.
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding, industrial environment.
